The CCIM Colorado/Wyoming Chapter held their annual development presentation & tour on July 23rd. Tony, along with 30 other CCIM members learned about the major redevelopment projects taking place between Union Station and DIA. Appropriately named the “Corridor of Opportunity” the 23 mile stretch has some of the best commercial real estate investment opportunities in today’s market. The area consists of Globeville, Elyria and Swansea neighborhoods.
There are six different redevelopment projects in this 23 mile corridor that offer a unique opportunity to reconnect a community to downtown Denver. According to Denver Mayor Michael Hancock “What we build today will create Denver’s tomorrow. Signature development projects will strength our economy, create jobs and improve neighborhoods.”
Hundreds of millions of dollars will be dedicated to the revitalization of the National Western Stock Show complex, Brighton Boulevard redevelopment and the Swansea Lid. Funds for part of the redevelopment will come from extending lodging and car-rental taxes. A referendum on the tax will be presented to the City and County of Denver voters in November.
