Bike to Work Day is an annual event that encourages people who normally drive alone to work to ride their bicycles instead. It is hoped that trying bicycle commuting in a fun and supportive atmosphere spurs participants to choose that option on a regular basis. Cycling is a clean and healthy way to get to work and taking part in the Denver region’s Bike to Work Day also helps generate momentum for safe and bike-friendly streets.
And today is Colorado’s Bike to Work Day. Colorado hosts the second biggest Bike to Work Day in the nation. As many as 32,000 commuters will hit the road on their bikes today. Bike to Work Day is organized by Way to Go, a regional program and partnership between the Denver Regional Council of Governments and seven transportation management associations.
Candace didn’t have any Western Investor Network companions to keep her company on her 12.5 mile ride to work, but hopes next year she can get others to join.
